HTML to link
Turn an HTML file into a link
How do I share an HTML file as a link?
Drop the .html file (or a .zip with its images and styles) into PDF Deck and you get a link that opens the page in any browser, on any device, with nothing to install. It's free. You can add a password or an email gate, put it on your own domain, and see who opened it.
Share an HTML file in 3 steps
- 1Drop your .html file above, or a .zip with index.html and its assets.
- 2Copy the link. The page runs as a real website, scripts and all.
- 3Optional: add a password, a call-to-action button or an expiry date, then send it.
Ways to share an HTML file
| PDF Deck | Attaching the .html file | |
|---|---|---|
| Opens on phones without downloading | ✓ | – |
| Images, styles and scripts load correctly | ✓ | – |
| Update it without resending | ✓ | – |
| Password or company-only access | ✓ | – |
| See who opened it | ✓ | – |
| Works offline | – | ✓ |
Why not just email the HTML file?
An .html attachment opens as a download on most phones, is often blocked by email filters, and loses its images unless they are embedded. A link opens straight in the browser and always shows your latest version.
Sites with more than one file
Zip the folder (index.html plus its css, js and images) and drop the zip. Relative links between pages work as they do on your computer.
Made with Claude, ChatGPT or another AI tool?
AI tools usually produce a single self-contained HTML file, which is exactly what this takes. With Claude you can skip the file entirely: connect PDF Deck and ask Claude to publish the page. See how.
Host an HTML file on your own domain
Connect a subdomain like docs.yourcompany.com once (paid plans) and every page you share uses it, with HTTPS set up for you.
Is it safe?
Pages run in a sandbox on a separate domain, so a page can't read anything from your account or your visitors' other sites. Pages are checked for phishing before they go live.
Questions
- Is it free?
- Yes. Sharing HTML pages is free; paid plans add your own domain, more pages and detailed viewer tracking.
- How big can the file be?
- Single HTML files and zipped sites up to your plan's file size limit (100 MB unpacked).
- Do scripts and forms work?
- Yes. JavaScript, charts, calculators and embedded media run normally. Forms work as long as they post to a service you use.
- Can I update the page later?
- Yes. Upload a new version and the same link shows it.
- What file types can be in a zip?
- Web pages, styles, scripts, images, fonts, JSON, PDFs and media.
